Doug has been a professional musician for over 15 years,
playing all styles and situations. He is comfortable with blues, dixieland,
jazz, rock, gospel and more. He has performed with The Dee Fisk Band, Don
McMinn and The Rum Boogie Band on Beale Street, Memphis, Tennessee and The
Memphis All-Stars. Doug has been a music director for Kevin Stewart Productions
and has performed in shows with The Coasters, The Drifters, The Shirelles, The
Crystals, The Platters, The Tokens, Chuck Berry, Bowser (Sha Na Na), Percy
Sledge, Dicky Lee, Peter Noone (Hermit’s Hermits), Danny and the Juniors, Tommy
Roe, Albert King, Rufus Thomas, B. B. King, Ace Cannon, Ben Cauley (original
Bar-Kays). His recording experience includes Don McMinn - “Live at The Rum
Boogie Café”, “Black Guitar”, “Cornerstone”; Linda Gail Lewis - “Do You Know”;
Little Dickie Dean (comedy), D. J. Fontana for “The Heart of Dixie” movie and
most recently, “TriplThreT - Memphis Music for Him”. Doug has been the staff
drummer for The Handy Blues Awards Show for 5 years. Praise bands in Memphis,
Tennessee of which Doug has been a part are Church of the Harvest and Hope
Presbyterian Church under the direction of Dove Award winner, Bruce Carroll. He
has been part of praise bands for special meetings and revivals for the
ministries of Dr. Leon Von Ryooen (Florida, South Africa), Patrick Andre’ of
John Avanzini Ministries (Tulsa), Kirk Pankranz (Founder of Youth America,
Oklahoma City), Ray Hollis (Oklahoma City), Bob Bennett, Rob Frazier and Jamie
Baker (Memphis), and took part in a missions trip to Belize sponsored by Hope
Presbyterian Church.
