Rene Jones is a  gifted singer/songwriter.  As lead singer of the musical group, Some Peoples’ Kids, she toured extensively throughout the United States performing at colleges, clubs, fairs, hotels and military bases. Some of her more memorable stage appearances  included singing with the legendary “Wolfman Jack” at the world famous Fountain Blue Hotel in Miami, Florida, and performing to audiences that would sometimes included members of groups such as ZZ Topp.  When not out  on the road Rene spent considerable time in the recording studio singing jingles and demos for companies small and large in her home state of Arkansas, and in nearby Memphis, Tennessee.  One of these sessions led to a chance meeting with producer/engineer, Danny Jones.    After a period of time she and Jones married and decided it was time to raise a family.

Although no longer running up and down the highway, her musical journey was anything but over.   For a number of years she sang with the Praise and Worship Vocal Group at Christ The Rock Metro Church in Memphis and  continues to  performed in and out of the recording studio with artists such as The Memphis Horns, Wendy Moten, Arletta Nightingale (national blues contest winner), award winning country songwriter/singer, Jerry Hayes (“Rollin’ with the Flow” and “Who’s Cheatin’ Who”)and Elvis cult hero, Bill Haney (who also recorded two of her songs, “Down by the Muddy Water” and “I Like It Like That” on his latest cd titled “ Memphis Heat”).

Putting together her musical and motherly experiences (she now has two sons), plans are in the works for recording a collection of lullabies she has written, and, her first solo Contemporary Christian cd .  Also, RJ  along with  husband, Danny have co-written the song, “Thank You” for an upcoming film documentary on the life and social effects of Elvis Presley.   Rene is currently performing and recording with the Contemporary Christian group Triplthret from Church of the Harvest in Memphis, Tennessee .
